1Filing Conditions
-Agency deed legalized by the Egyptian Consulate.
-Assignment deed legalized by the Egyptian Consulate
-Name, address, nationality profession and nature of work of the applicant, (applicants) and inventor/ inventors.
-Specifications in English or French language in order to prepare the Arabic translation. Specification should be divided as follows:
-Status of the previous technique.
-Status defects of the previous technique.
-New elements in the invention (improvements)
-Detailed description
-Invention exploitation manner
-Summary of the invention in English and Arabic (about 100 words).
-One set of the engineering drawings.
-An extract of the assignee company in the Commercial Register or a copy of the incorporation certificate, legalized by the Egyptian Consulate.
-Submitting a legalized copy of the priority document within three (3) months in case of request.
2As for the conditions to obtain a patent from the Egyptian Patents Office, the invention should satisfy the following:
-The invention should be new. The invention shall not be deemed new, wholly or partially, if a patent has been previously issued for the same invention or part thereof, whether inside the A.R.E. or abroad before submitting a request to obtain a patent in Egypt.
-The invention shall not also be deemed new, wholly or partially, if the request to obtain a patent in Egypt has been preceded by another request to obtain a patent for the same invention or part thereof, whether in A.R.E. or abroad.
-It should comprise a creative step.
-The invention shall not be axiomatic to the industry man, specialized in the technology field of the invention.
-Liable for industrial application.
3There are seven (7) steps to obtain a patent from the Egyptian Patents Office, affiliated to the Academy , they are manifested in the following:
-Submitting a request to the Patents Office along with the documents, stipulated by the law No. 82 of 2002, which are available on the Firm’s site.
-Payment of the application fee. Students of all categories are completely exempted, even if they are higher studies students.
-The request shall be given a filing number and date.
-The Law and Executive Regulation give a grace period to complete some documents.
-A formal check of the requests shall be performed within six (6) months from the submission date.
-Requests shall be transferred to the technical check in accordance with their precedence of submission.
-In case of technical acceptance of the request, the acceptance shall be published and if there is no objection, the patent shall be granted.
